Our largest and most successful event is here! It sold out early last year — we increased the size this year but not by much.  Everyone from Colorado was there!

This year will be more gorgeous, inspiring, and moving than ever before.

The Colorado Black Women for Political Action are excited to announce our 45th Annual Tribute to Black Women Luncheon!  We sold out last year fast!

We will honor the tireless efforts and exemplary contributions of Black women who do amazing work  to support Black communities in the state of Colorado.

This year our theme is, “Embracing the Past to Shape our Future”  This theme was chosen to honor the foremothers of the Black community whose persistent efforts  have shaped our current social and political landscape.  Without the sacrifices they made, we would have had a more grim past and present state, resulting in a dim future for the Black community. The theme of our luncheon this year highlights the importance of embracing the lessons learned in order to create a bright future based on the wisdom of our foremothers.

We are honored to host the very motivational Congresswoman Jahana Hayes as our keynote speaker. Hayes was elected in November 2018 and she is the first African-American Congresswoman of Connecticut. She garnered widespread notoriety when she earned the distinction of 2016 National Teacher of the Year by President Barack Obama.  As a member of the Congressional Black Caucus since 2018, she champions for policies that impact marginalized communities.

Congresswoman Hayes currently sits on the full House Committees of Education, Labor, and Agriculture. Her areas of legislative focus are vast, and include equitable access to quality education, affordable health care for all, food security, labor, agriculture, and environment. She has been a fierce advocate for immigration reform, gun violence prevention, veteran issues, social justice, and transportation—and has done so working in a bipartisan way. Join as we pay homage to our current and past leaders, and recognize the shining future ahead!

The event will be held on October 7th, 2023, 12pm-1:30pm at the Seawall Ballroom at the Denver Center for Performing Arts.  Enjoy a wonderful lunch and an uplifting program we have for you.
